Started wearing these after talking with a fellow ski patroller who loved his. After four knee surgeries over the years, I was wearing a sleeve that sort of did the job, but wasn't great during long days working on the hill. Bracelayer pants changed things for me. Comfort and support for not just my knee, but my legs as well!
I have tried both the regular waste band and the draw string version. The draw string is worth the extra few bucks. Soft and more comfortable in my opinion. Having the ability to adjust it is nice.
I also selected the boot cut. I am happy with the shorter length.
I now wear these off the hill all year long. Big fan.

WORKING OUT WELL FOR MY PLANNED USES

I first purchased a pair in March, for a European trip due to OA in both knees. They were a life saver. I have since purchased another pair and they have helped significantly with my pain.

I had two reconstructive knee surgeries over 30 years ago and in the last five years with age and arthritis have had issues with my knee. Pain, stiffness, strain and feeling at times not stable.
I have all kinds of pull on knee braces to wear under pants.
I decided to try these for every day errands and short walks and stationary bike workout. I really enjoy the fit and security I feel around the knee. I bought another pair and also bought the cycling one. These are great for these old bones!

I am a 67 yo women who loves to ski and I have been troubled with pain when skiing deep powder or long days. A friend suggested brace layers and I bought K1 vent ones. I am planning on walking the Camino to Santiago next month and wanted something to support my knees on the daily 17 mile walks. So far, during training they have been superb in supporting me and I have far less pain following a long walk/ Barre class. I even use them under my work clothes doing yard work that requires up and down hills. I plan to use them skiing and have no doubts they will work for me.

Careful on the sizing and measure your waist correctly ( I originally bought a size to big) and the shipping (DHL) takes forever ( 2 weeks). Wash them according to directions ( cold water; line dry).

I highly recommend this product and it is worth every penny.

Helps so much with my knee pain when jogging & riding. Quick question as i am preparing for a sprint triathlon , would it be ok to swim in my bracelayer running gear?

Bought it for my husband. He uses it for skiing and leg workout routine at the gym. He swears by these leggings now and asked me to get him a few more pairs.

These are fantastic! I’ve read how they need to be higher. I initially thought that as well. What I discovered is the insulated pair slide easily down when wearing underwear. However, going commando solved the problem. And, they are much more comfortable. IMO

I must admit I was skeptical of the claims. I ski often in the winter. My knees were starting to feel the days. I bought a pair of these ski boot length. They have been amazing. I wear these under my ski pants. The are warm and stabilizing. I wear a brace on my left knee and these work great with that brace. I just bought a lighter pair to wear to the gym. They really help.

Bracelayer does the job you want it to do it keeps you warm and gives you support without being too restrictive. They give you a little extra bounce kn the knees and make it so I can ski all day without the pain. The 7/8 length breaks perfectly so they don’t go into my ski boot and risk bunching up and cutting off the circulation leading to cold feet. Definitely worth the purchase

After years of sedimentary life because of a tragic climbing accident. I stopped doing everything I loved and decided I just needed to do it. These allowed me to do that.

Our Physical therapist told us about BraceLayer last year, and the sizes we needed were sold out. This year my husband and I bought the shorter ski boot version early on in the season, and we love them! We both have knee issues- meniscus and ACL- and these really help. The support is excellent and they replaced our heavier thermal layer under slightly insulated ski pants.
We both wear braces or sleeves over them- and they stay up much better- clinging to the fabric of these alpine BraceLayers quite well. The support is very noticeable, and after 5 hrs of skiing we both felt great. Note: I have tight IT bands and these really helped and I felt looser and pain- free down these lateral leg tendons. One day, I totally forgot my knee braces and I was fine! Even on my worse knee which has both meniscus torn.

We each bought another alpine pair, and I use the longer version both for skiing (it hikes up just fine as the fabric at the bottom is thinner), and for walking on cold days.
I just ordered non- thermal pairs for us, to use for hiking & working out. We’ll also try them over bike chamois liners to see how they help during cycling.

The only caveat- I find the cut of the back rise on the women’s versions are a little too shallow and low ( I’m a retired athletic apparel designer, and am well versed in fit issues). I have a flat booty, so it could be worse if you’ve got more of a butt . It’s mostly solved by really hiking the pants up starting at the knees as directed, and tying the drawstring tightly. It also helps to tuck in your base layers to keep the back waist from dragging down. However, the company should review their specs and add a little to the back rise- it will only help.
