Bracelayer® Apparel Ltd. creates functional compression pants with built-in knee support, designed to reduce knee pain while improving performance.
How It Works
Bracelayer's compression leggings contain our Tri-Tech Support Layer, which includes a thin, perforated neoprene compression sleeve around the knees and hips.
The tactile input this compression provides may:
- Enhance proprioceptive feedback
- Improve neuromuscular control
- Promote more symmetrical force contribution
- Support dynamic stability under fatigue
- Reduce knee pain during activity
The result is targeted knee support without rigid bracing or restriction of movement.
The Science Behind Bracelayer
Each pair features low-profile compression knee sleeves built in. with anti-bacterial StabiLuxe™ compression base and features integrated, engineered directly into the garment for targeted support while maintaining full freedom of movement. Unlike traditional knee braces, Bracelayer garments are designed to enhance sensory feedback and stability while maintaining natural movement.
Independently Tested Performance
Bracelayer was independently tested by researchers at the Canadian Sport Institute – Pacific (CSI-P) with athletes who have chronic knee pain or suffered a prior knee injury.
Researchers measured the effects of wearing Bracelayer on:
- Knee proprioception (joint position sense)
- Single-leg balance and stability
- Jump force production
- Landing performance
- Subjective knee pain
- Performance before and after fatigue
Ultimately, these tests found that Bracelayer improved stability, balance, and proprioception without restricting movement or performance.
Key Findings
While wearing Bracelayer’s compression pants, participants demonstrated:
- ~50% improvement in knee joint position accuracy
- More stability in the injured limb
- Increased injured-limb force while jumping
- Reduced knee pain
- No restriction to jump height, power, or landing ability
These benefits remained consistent, even after a fatiguing protocol.
The report by CSI-P supports previous findings that combined compression and integrated knee sleeve design can improve proprioception, stability, and comfort in athletes with knee issues.
